Douglas Topkis, Chairman
Douglas Topkis is the CEO of Lehigh Natural Resources, an 8,000 acre Anthracite coal mine in Pennsylvania. He is also a managing member of Haystack Capital, L.P. From 2001 through 2010, Mr. Topkis worked at First New York Securities where he was a partner. Mr. Topkis has served as a strategic advisor to Mystic Pharmaceuticals since 2005 and was appointed as a Director and Chairman in 2009. He served on the Board of Directors of National Renal Alliance until December 2008 when the company was acquired by Renal Advantage. Renal Advantage is one of the largest providers of outpatient dialysis services in the U.S. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Aquilent, an integrator focused on Web-based software development. Mr. Topkis received a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University and an MBA in finance from The Wharton School of Business.
Timothy Sullivan, President & Chief Executive Officer
Timothy Sullivan is Co-Founder, President & CEO of Mystic Pharmaceuticals. Over the past 37 years he has created novel technologies, products, and services and grown seven companies, three of which were acquired by major corporations. Mr. Sullivan is co-inventor of Mystic’s novel drug delivery technology platforms and responsible for defining both the technological and strategic direction of Mystic. He has recruited and led a highly accomplished team of scientists, engineers and business professionals through early stage R&D programs, clinical trials and the deployment of a cGMP production facility for Mystic’s innovative delivery technologies. He holds ten issued/pending patents in the field of drug/biologic packaging and delivery.
Previously, Mr. Sullivan was co-founder of INFUSE Corporation, a strategy-consulting firm where he served as a Principal Consultant for organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to emerging companies spanning telecommunications, energy, life sciences, high technology and education. Mr. Sullivan served as a planning and technology commercialization consultant to NASA at the Johnson Space Center and was a Co-founder of the Space Business Research Institute. He was selected as one of the top 100 notable people in the medical device industry in 2008 by MD&DI and served as the 2010 Chairman of BioAustin. Mr. Sullivan serves on the Life Science Advisory Board for the Austin Technology Incubator at the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Sullivan holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business, Physics, and Strategic Foresight from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and the University of Houston.
Bruce Toll, Director
Bruce Toll is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Toll Brothers, Inc., a highly successful home building company whose stock is listed on the NYSE. Mr. Toll has been a director of Toll Brothers since 1986 and served as the President of the company until 1998. Mr. Toll is founder and President of BET Investments, an office and commercial real estate company. Mr. Toll has had experience in assisted care living centers for the elderly and has vast business knowledge in entrepreneurial enterprises.
