Mystic has developed two unit dose drug delivery technology platforms: the VersiDoser™ Delivery Platform and the VRx2™ Delivery Platform.  The VersiDoser™ Delivery Platform is a liquid delivery platform while the VRx2™ Delivery Platform provides the capability to reconstitute and dispense freeze dried drugs or biologics. Each platform comprises novel unit dose blister packaging, proprietary intranasal and ophthalmic delivery devices and aseptic manufacturing production technologies.    Mystic utilizes a modular engineering approach for both platforms and provides customized delivery system solutions for its pharmaceutical and biotech partners.

The VersiDoser™ Delivery Platform utilizes a proprietary manufacturing process to produce unit dose, liquid filled blisters. VersiDoser™ Blisters are produced using USP monograph tested laminates which provide superior barrier properties against water vapor, oxygen and light transmission.  Blisters are formed, filled and sealed utilizing a proprietary aseptic manufacturing process. Each blister is precision filled with the drug compound, sealed and loaded into a Mystic delivery system. VersiDoser™ blister incorporates a proprietary VelocityJet™ micro pump which controls precision dosing, delivery and spray plume geometry. The VersiDoser™ Blister can be configured to accommodate a variety of drug compounds or biologic agents, with delivered dose capabilities ranging from 15 to 500 microliters.  VersiDoser™ Blisters can also be terminally sterilized if required.  There are single and multi-dose delivery systems for intranasal and ophthalmic applications available.

The VRx2™ Delivery Platform under development by Mystic is designed for packaging and delivery of reconstituted drugs or biologics. VRx2™ Blisters are produced using USP USP monograph tested laminates which provide superior barrier properties against water vapor, oxygen and light transmission.  Blisters are formed, filled and sealed utilizing a proprietary aseptic manufacturing process.  VRx2™ blisters are multi-chambered storing the freeze dried drug or biologic in one chamber and the diluent in a separate chamber.  The blister is pre-loaded into the delivery system.  Reconstitution occurs within the blister during the dispensing process and can be made virtually transparent to the end user or caregiver administering the drug.  This approach reduces many of the risks typically found with needle based reconstitution delivery such as contamination, inaccurate mixing procedures and loss of sterility.  VRx2™ delivery systems will be available for intranasal, ophthalmic and oral (sub-lingual) applications.
